The 3DS is awesome, no question. BUT they aren't nearly as cheap as the DS and the PSP (was). With the price of the PSP significantly higher than it was a year ago when they could easily be bought from Japan, the DSi is now my go-to recommendation.

No matter if you choose the plug and play method of buying a $25 208 in 1 game cartridge or mod it with a SD card, the DSi has a lot to offer, particularly with the GBA compatibility.
