Elite Dangerous, first released in 2014, is a realistic space sim by Frontier Interactive. It is a sequel to the retro PC game Elite, and the third sequel of the Elite franchise. The game's use of actual Newtonian mechanics and physics marks the game as a scientifically realistic space sim. Since its release, it's had four expansions: Horizons, Beyond, and Odyssey, with the most recent released in 2021.
The game also has VR support (ever wanted to fly in space in VR?) and HOTAS ((Hands on Throttle And Stick) integration for a realistic experience.
