Wolfenstein 3D Playthrough for first time since the 90s - E2 (via ECWolf)
Episode 2 of Wolfenstein 3D is easily the least enjoyable of the first 3, for one reason: mutants.
I can understand wanting to have an enemy that can surprise the player, but it's kind of a raw deal when that usually results in them killing the player in 2 shots.
I also got off to a rather rough start because e2m1 clearly intends to be traversed in a certain order, and I was getting that wrong repeatedly, and was initially not aware there was a blatantly correct order.
Ultimately, the boss of this episode is arguably the most reasonable enemy in the game to that point, since it's the first thing that isn't bloody hitscan.
I had been disappointed to hear repeated music by the back half of E1, but on the other hand, it's nice that they prioritized having some new music in each episode.
