Wonder Boy Returns is a remake of Sega's classic 1986 platformer, Wonder Boy, released for Steam and PS4. Developed by the Korean company, CFK, it is a modest effort that plays like the original but feels a little cheap with uninteresting boss battles (though lets face it: it's more diverse than the 80s original), visual inconsistencies (certain assets don't appear correctly, frog enemies have jarringly limited animation, etc.) and the odd decision to let you see the ending from the start (taking away some of the incentive of playing). Outside of that, it adds a few extra elements like stage collectibles, the ability to play with Tina and remixed music. It adheres to the same slidey physics and has no new power-ups. The game has fourty levels. In the game, you gotta rescue your girlfriend from a mischievous devil. Real simple plot.
