This Tasmanian Sword was an item I was totally unaware of back in the days when I used to play this game on the Sega Master System - a sword that lets you change form on the fly by jumping, then pressing up and attack.

It's obtainable once you've beaten the Zombie Dragon. As Piranha Man you can access an area that was previously out of reach in the Desert. On the way you can pick up the very handy Dragon Mail, making you impervious to lava, and your goal in the desert is to pick up the Thunder Ring, which allows you to smash blocks. Once you can do this, you can access this underground cave section (that you'll come back to later as Lion Man to fight the Samurai Dragon). On the way to get the Tasmanian Sword, I also pick the Magical Sabre, that lets you turn background elements with stars on into blocks you can jump on and smash. Actually getting to the secret shop with the sword in is quite tricky as Mouse Man, as these are enemies that you'd normally encounter later in the game as Lion Man, who's got a much longer reach with his sword, and you'd also generally have better equipment by this point too, meaning you don't take as much damage and die so quickly. Undeterred, I cracked on and my persistence was rewarded! This little beaut of an item should hopefully make life a bit easier later on in the game!
