When you see the message "Summoning phantom" and you're nearby the host, you're working on a timer. Especially more so in the Demon's Souls Remake on PS5 as the first few moments someone is in a world they can hurt others while being completely invulnerable AND invisible. When someone is standing still at the start of a level it's generally because they just warped there or because they're summoning someone and you arrived just after you would've seen the "Summoning phantom" message. So when you see "Summoning Phantom" start a 30 second timer in your head, that's about how much time you have until the the summon arrives.

Normally I'd give someone the benefit of having their summon enter the world before any combat but I've stopped caring whenever I see the Monk Collar or Northern Regalia, this host had both.
