Welcome to Orgrimmar.
Today we are taking a little tour around Orgrimmar, the capital city of the Horde. You might have noticed there was an option to get a city tour as soon as I returned from Exile's Reach, but I opted out of that. I would recommend taking that city tour for completely new players as it teaches you how to set your hearthstone and even shows how to learn the riding skill and how to buy a mount.

However today we are doing a city tour by me!

We visit the Pathfinder's Den, this is place where portals are located. As you can imagine, portals allow you to travel great distances so you arrive immediately instead of having to ride/run for...well, a long time to get to your desired destination.

We also go talk to Chromie, she is quite a quirky "gnome" and she is the person to talk to whenever you wish to choose which timeline you want to play. Timeline as in expansion. Fear not, choosing a timeline basically means "which dungeons would you like". No matter what timeline you choose, the rest of the expansions do not just disappear. For example I personally enjoy questing in vanilla/cataclysm zones but Wrath Of The Lich King dungeons are my absolute favorite. To accomplish this combination of pleasure I can talk to Chromie and select Wrath Of The Lich King timeline. This way me, and you, can quest in vanilla/Cataclysm zones while sitting in a que for WOTLK dungeon. Quite handy.

We also visit the barber shop to show that we're not forever stuck with the look we chose at the character creation screen, we can change our look whenever for a small fee in a barber shop.

Next we set our hearthstone to an inn. I have been setting mine to that same inn for as long as I have played. Your hearthstone teleports you to that particular inn from anywhere at any time.

We also learned a few professions (herbalism/fishing/cooking). Professions are completely optional, you absolutely do not have to learn any professions at all. You may have 2 primary professions and 3 secondary professions. You may have any combination of professions. Choose wisely though, should you decide to learn a profession and change your mind later, you will lose all progress you had if you unlearn it.

I also learned the riding skill. This skill will be updated eventually so this is just the first tier of riding which makes my riding speed 60%. At level 20 we can learn the second tier, which makes our mounted speed 100%. At level 30 we may learn to ride flying mounts and level 40 allows us to learn the fastest possible flying speed.

I also picked up a tabard. In all of its shortness your tabard dictates which city/faction your reputation goes to in a dungeon. Every time you kill an enemy in a dungeon, you gain experience and reputation. So now that I have picked up the Orgrimmar tabard, all that reputation I gain from killing enemies in dungeons goes to Orgrimmar. Why does this matter? You get discounts depending on your reputation. For example learning riding costs gold. But higher your reputation, more discount you get. I know I will go to Orgrimmar to learn all the tiers of riding so I want my reputation to be a high as possible so learning those riding skills will be a bit cheaper for me.
There are many factions you can get many cool items, mounts and other things from, so get those tabards to get you some discounts!

We also visited a transmogrifier. Mogging allows you to change to look of your armor. I chose to hide my helmet and tabard with that feature.
There are many cool armor pieces that just look cool, so with this feature you can make your armor look like something from previous expansions if you just don't like the look of the armor you are wearing. The stats remain the same so your crappy looking armor is just as good as always but mogging allows you to make it look cool.

I don't know just yet where we will be going next time, but I hope you enjoyed the little tour around Orgrimmar.
