XCOM 2: The Second Encounter - Episode 6
==== Began uploading at 2022, February, 15th, 23:19 ====
FINALLY, THIS EPISODE IS UPLOADED AT THE LONG LAST. Oh, right, hello again, how I could forget about that.
Primary credits:
Voice acting:
The Ally - Australian Russell TTS (and because they asked nicely: https://readloud.net/english/australian/48-male-voice-russell.html)
The Ally's commander - myself
Doom-Yakov/The Speaker - Russian Maxim TTS
Outside sources:
Base of the Ally and his commander is basically Prodeus campaign levels - I suggest you check the game itself though, it's quite fun and has a really nice level editor in which even I managed to do something: https://store.steampowered.com/app/964800/Prodeus/
The Ally's storyline features my custom level in Prodeus
Garry's Mod "Halo Vehicles" mod is used
The rest of credits are in the episode's Wrap-Up
Timecodes:
00:00 - Intro and the Ally cutscene
03:35 - Gameplay part
55:47 - Episode's Wrap-Up, first part
56:36 - Trust of the Ally: Clint Geodigarny

The regular episode is quite boring, but I did promise to talk about the events of production. So...
I indeed started doing this thing after being done with Ep.5. However, I wasn't exactly sure how to do "Trust of the Ally" and his cutscene. What I wanted is to make them slightly more different that the previous "Ally in his base with Copyright Eliminator at hand".
At the same time, I was bombarded with stuff directly related to studies, and that stuff was of the highest priority. I had to concentrate on that first. After completing that thing, however, I've found myself lacking in initiative to do the episode. So I just sat and played some story-driven games to see how I can improve my storytelling (they didn't help me, surprise surprise)
After I did Sonic 3 SFX test here, I looked at my raw footage again. Then I decided that until I do this video, I won't do anything else. To give me initiative... and, well, I had you waiting for the next episode, Watchers and Commenters.
Immediately I had found problems, because I searched Garry's Mod Workshop for underground hangar maps. And I didn't find any. So I had to create my own map in Prodeus. I envisioned it to be much prettier than the result here, but at the very least I did it. I also had some choppy animation recorded in GMod as well. I could improve it, but GMod deleted the animation data (the save itself stayed), so what you're gonna see in "Trust of the Ally" is the only thing left. Because otherwise this could take another week to recreate normally, I took what survived and used it.
After that, I began to think how to do an intro cutscene. Using the established plot point about from where the Ally takes the power, I had to find that power plant. Luckily, Serious Sam Siberian Mayhem had come out not too long ago, so I had the footage necessary (thanks Serious Sam community!). Writing the dialogue (easily my weakest part here) was grueling, but I had to create some new faces. I went through 3 rewrites of the plot because the Ally had been way too polite (or whiny) and still his expositing self.
The same happened with "Trust of the Ally", some rewrites as well.
After I got all of this done, I began finally editing the episode. But, damn, Mann Co Supply Crate raids are long and boring. I've almost lost interest completely while I tried to type my commentary (and use Speed Ups here and there).
But finally, after another week, I did this thing. And I'm uploading it here. I'm really sorry, Watchers and Commenters. This one should have come much earlier - but my university schedule, along with apathy and general laziness, have kept you for much longer than I wanted to.
I myself hope that Episode 7 doesn't have any storylines, really.
