4The Royal Army reaches another human settlement and finds not only Undines attacking but also bandits hailing from the Lenessey Mountains led by a man named Ortega. Ortega's Kill Blade grants him a 1on 1 win effect. Basically that means if a clash boils down to units' heads alone then whoever holds the Kill Blade automatically wins the clash no questions asked.
You'll want to send someone to the south end in order to recruit a young Undine named Nietzsche. She speaks of what sparked the Undine conflict due to the theft of a precious Undine treasure known as the Transmigragem.
Nietzsche's older sister stole it after being tricked by a human who promised her love. After finding out she became a wreck and.. Well didn't end well. Due to that incident, Nietzsche is pretty much treated as a traitor as well and asks the Royal Army to count her in their ranks.
Nietzsche is pretty good as an Undine as she carries their strengths and weaknesses. She'll join at the end of the chapter regardless but If you recruit her before the end she'll carry the Coral Spear for two more maps. The Coral Spear will allow her to restore her morale while in a water tile which guarantees her survival.
You'll learn another part of what else prompted the Undine attack depending of if you take out a certain Undine or Liberate Lake Town Velas
With the Undines being a race of women, the Transmigragem will allows the Undines to survive as a species through its process of rebirth. With it being stolen, the Undines face a slow but certain extinction.
The Undines are desperate and have learned from a wandering magician that human blood is needed to make an elixir of youth allowing them to prolong their survival which Milanor outright dismisses.
Not long after the fighting, Zilva, the leader of the Empire's special forces comprised of trained assassins shows up along with her protege Elena show up to further harass the Royal Army. Zilva and Elena can't counter attack on your turn while you can't counter attack on theirs. And remember that assassins are much better at night
Zilva responds in kind by saying that they're showing charity by ending the Undine's suffering now.
