Yoshi's Cookie Game Sample - GB
Yoshi's Cookie is a pretty fun puzzle game that was originally released for the NES and Game Boy in 1992, and was later released for the SNES in 1993 (by Bullet-Proof Software). It was also re-released within the GameCube game "Nintendo Puzzle Collection" (along with Dr. Mario and Panel de Pon), and for the Wii Virtual Console. A special version of Yoshi's Cookie was released in Japan under the name "Yoshi's Cookie Kuruppon Oven de Cookie" for the Super Famicom and is one of the most coveted titles for the system (with a run of approximately 500 copies, the last spotted copy is nearly $2000). The special version promotes the Kuruppon Oven and features an "Adventure Mode" where you travel a map and learn how to bake the cookies in the game.
The goal of Yoshi's Cookie is simple. The idea is to clear your field of all cookies and more can come from above and to the right of you. As you progress through the game, you have to contend with more kinds of cookies and the pace picks up. There are two modes of play in the GB version of YC: 1P and VS. In 1P (same as "Action" in the SNES game), you simply must complete the game's many stages. After every ten, you get a greater challenge. In VS, you compete against another. It's rather fun and competitive. The game features three simple music tracks to listen to while you play and the graphics are simple and clean. This is a video of the game in action. Enjoy.
