Wow, I'm kind of shocked that I managed to beat the quota I set for myself this time. Sunday streams are generally shorter than their counterparts on Thursdays, so I was hoping to make it to 45 treasures *at maximum* this time. I didn't quite hit the 50 I'd need to make sure I wrap things up in four sessions, but the fact that I managed to surpass my goal to any degree is a nice little feather in my cap. Still think it's going to take five sessions in total, like last time... unless I manage to make some obscene progress next time. That last session might be disappointingly short, though.

While this game itself clearly isn't a Metroidvania in a traditional sense, unlocking new abilities give me the same "key that opens locks" vibes, simply due to the multi-layer designs of each level. KI has told me that regaining the high jump is going to be the biggest game-changer of them all, especially since the rest of what's left doesn't sound particularly important. It's just, being able to swim against currents (which actually sounds okay) and picking up larger enemies for throwing.

I tackled several boss fights this time around. What I find really interesting is that some of them avoided the same "one hit and you start over" mechanic present in the previous game. Having the ability to recover and continue just feels a lot more natural. Granted, there were also more traditional bosses mixed in there as well... which only made those "balanced" fights feel even more like a treat.

I think I'm going to try to reach 80 treasures next time, just to see if I could possibly finish the game one session earlier than I was hoping. I'm not going to bother with collecting all of the music coins though, just because the "reward" sounds like more of a punishment.
