You Never Die Twice - Episode 6: Third Is the One With Treasure Chest

Not gonna lie, I'm way too proud of this title. Like, *way* too proud. It's not even that clever.
So, I've finally moved on from the second Wario Land to the third... and I'm definitely noticing a major change, despite both games being made for the same hardware, more or less. KI was definitely right about the controls improving significantly. But on the other hand, starting without Wario's full moveset is a bit of a bummer. That being said, I'm not really as bothered by those demo sequences that the game shows whenever you unlock another move, despite KI warning me that they were incredibly long and annoying.
Since the game's up on NSO, Dari has decided to sit this one out, as he might want to play the game someday. That's perfectly fine in my book. KI regularly does the same thing. In fact, there are even times where if KI hasn't played something that I'm streaming, they'll just abstain from watching unless or until they do a replay of their own. Hell, I do the same thing with streamers I watch: if I wanna play a game that someone else is streaming at some point, I drop out. It just feels a bit weird that he watched the *previous* Wario Land without any issue.
The stage layouts in this game is definitely interesting. Each level has four treasures hidden in them and each one counts as a stage clear. It's sort of like a 2D Super Mario 64 in that respect -- aside from being forced to find the corresponding key before grabbing the treasure. It's definitely way less annoying than the format for the previous game, that's for sure. Better yet, it seems like only one treasure per level is stuck behind an inane mini-game... and at least that one only costs 10 coins per play. I'm literally a quarter of the way through collecting all the treasures. But whether or not I go for the music coins has yet to be determined. After all, according to KI, they just unlock a special extended version of that accursed golf mini-game if you grab every single one of them. KI even likened it to the "reward" you unlock for collecting all of the Korok seeds in the most recent Zelda games.
