Thomas Guiry, who captured hearts as the lovable Scotty Smalls in the 1993 classic The Sandlot, made headlines last year for a disturbing incident in his neighborhood.
The former child star reportedly went to his neighbor’s house armed with a knife, convinced his wife was inside. But when the neighbor’s actual wife answered the door, Guiry allegedly followed her into the garage while still holding the knife.
His neighbor quickly confronted him, prompting Guiry to leave—but not before grabbing a 35-pound dumbbell and hurling it through the windshield of the neighbor’s Jeep.
Police arrested Guiry shortly after. He was released the following day on $1,000 bail. According to reports, Guiry later apologized to his neighbor and vowed to pay for the damage.
It’s a wild turn for someone once known as the innocent kid who “got us out of the pickle.”
