Yuzuriha Inori: A Waifu of The Season That was Ignored by Figure Manufacturers | Good Smile Company
Welcome to the Hall of Fame (Or Shame?) series on this channel, where I explore older figures that were released many years ago - especially figures that were very popular or famous in the past, either in a good way, or infamous in a bad way. Today's episode 1 features Good Smile Company's 1/8 scale Yuzuriha Inori from the anime series Guilty Crown. A modest start.
This figure was released on the 11th October 2012, which makes it her 10th anniversary during the publishing of this video. Yes, this figure is 10 years old.
The anime Guilty Crown aired sometime in 2011 to great reception, while her figure was announced shortly after in Wonder Festival. However, things went downhill from there shortly after. While being seemingly promising, this Inori figure was a bit controversial after its release for a couple of reasons. Also, this very character was mostly snubbed by figure manufacturers despite her popularity. Until today, I never understood why a waifu of the season, back in year 2011, never really got much love from figure brands.
This hall of fame series will be a monthly series, but it isn't a proper figure review. After all, it isn't fair to review an old or preowned product which has been in my ownership for a long time, as user errors might lead to flaws on a figure that didn't exist while it was still brand new. Do expect at least one episode a month, but there might be occasions where I increase the upload frequency to twice a month.
