Zeno Clash with 3D spatial sound 🎧 (OpenAL Soft HRTF audio)
Use headphones only with any virtual surround features turned off.
This is a demonstration of Zeno Clash with OpenAL Soft's HRTF through DSOAL. It's another Source engine game which means it requires "snd_legacy_surround 1" plus quad speakers enforced in the options menu. The 3D positional audio is just passable. If the music was on, you probably wouldn't even hear the HRTF effect at all. You can gauge direction okay enough, but not distance. That means you can still tell if an enemy is behind you, but it's hard to tell if they're an immediate threat. Like Half-Life 2, there's no vertical HRTF. Zeno Clash still has better spatialization than Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, though.
