Zip through Labyrinth Zone Act 2 in Sonic The Hedgehog (Sega) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts30
1,851In Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis, there are multiple locations where you can perform a zip to effectively skip large portions of the level. One of the easiest zips to execute can be found in Labyrinth Zone Act 2 just after the first checkpoint.
After the first checkpoint in Labyrinth Zone Act 2, you will encounter a button on the floor that opens up a gate that allows Sonic to progress downward through the stage. Pressing the button causes this gate to move to the left, and it will move into the wall to the left of the button.
What you want to do here is hit the button and stand still on the bridge as it moves to the left into the wall. Doing this will place Sonic inside of the wall to the left, which will allow him to perform the zip.
To set up the trick, jump to the right of the button, and press yourself up against the right wall. Now start running to the left, then jump to the left just a few frames after you start running. Sonic will land on the button, then continue running left onto the bridge as it is moving into the wall to the left. Once you've landed on the moving bridge, let go of the control pad, and Sonic will get swallowed into the wall. Once Sonic is stuck in the wall, hold Left on the control pad, and Sonic will zip to the end of the level. Congratulations! You've skipped about two-thirds of Labyrinth Zone Act 2!
It's great because the latter half of this level is super annoying.
Note that if Sonic is only partially stuck in the wall (that is, if any part of him is sticking out of the wall) the zip will only push you out of the wall, and you won't be able to skip any of the level.
