If you check the comments from level 21, I have apparently ended up "killing" some monsters on the run... This is sort of a bug of course: If you freeze or trap a monster in a bubble, once they are removed from the map (because they fell of the edge of your screen) they die instead of simply disappearing. Rather annoying of course. Some monsters seem not to die, some do die.

I was forced to figure out how to check how many monster I have killed on the run. Basically found the addresses on the save states. I have killed during the run:

Levels 1 to 20: 4 aliens
21: 2 aliens
22: 2 clones
33 or 33b: 1 merman

I've killed relatively little to my surprise.

Anyway I've been replaying the game in the background again, saving every completed level, which means I can reach level 36 faster than it took to get there (since the videos force me to complete more than one level in one run). Today I reached this level and recalled that last time I chickened out and left right after the exit door opened (which is before the level starts), with good reason of course, as I ran more than just this level that time.

But since I was doing this level on its own now I decided to see if I could pull it off. And here it goes after about five hours or learning how to deal with every section of the small -but quite dangerous- map.

I dont get hit by the enemies, don't step on the lava, dont kill the burning dolls with the freeze gun or whatever weapons, nor kill them inadvertently with the raising walls (checked the savestate), picked all the items, saved all the neighbors, and triggered all the walls.

The only item that can be used are the inflatable clowns, they aren't the best ever but their help is invaluable, the dolls move randomly, but not random enough to get out of the way when you want them to (maybe they aren't random and actually converge towards you, no idea). I place them in spots where I want dolls to move so they don't get in my way or in the area the wall traps will raise (as that kills them). In the case I want to escape an area but the respawning dolls block the way out I place the clowns close to their spawn points as a decoy to give me some time to run for it. And finally if a doll caught on to me I use them to make my escape from them. Sadly you don't have full control of the point the clowns will spawn or it would be easier.

Besides dolls killing you, stepping on lava because you were looking at the dolls behavior and not focusing on your own character, a wall killing a doll and what not, one of the most deadly areas in the map is the very tiny "bridge" that you are forced to cross at about the middle-top of the level. The path is not too wide, and if you don't have time to position yourself, it's just muscle memory, so many times you step on lava there. At least by raising the wall section on the left you can cross it back with ease, as pushing against this wall will give you the correct level at which to cross it.

There are two important walls, all of them are hard enough, but the one on top-right has a spawn point right on top of its area. So the dolls that spawn there are always around the danger zone, if you have bad timing you may kill them as they spawn, and also that area you must cross because the alternate route is more dangerous to your health.

And the final wall section, as you will probably have no sight of whats going on there when you trigger it, and you may end up killing a doll. That's why I take my time to leave the level. I'm waiting for the dolls over there to disappear, because last time I had a run done it got screwed by a doll dying there.

Fortune smiles on this run, eh? On other runs I wasn't put into so many bad positions, yet the times I did were the ones that ended the run. This time however, the bad situations fixed themselves :P

I'm at level 21 now, yawn.
