I compare the Soviet-era VL-100 television with my Princess PBW-121 that I received for Xmas in he 80s. It looks like the VL-100 dates from the mid-70s ( based on capacitor date stamps) and the Princess dates from the mid-80s, so a good decade is between them.

I start digging around the flyback transformer in the VL-100 and will try to remove it from the board.
