#1073 Mortal Kombat Trilogy (game.com) Hidden Characters (2/2): Ermac playthrough.
A playthrough of the hidden character Ermac in the game.come/game com port of Midway’s/Netherealm’s Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
Ermac and Noob Saibot are both unlocked by inputting codes on the character selection screen. Why they bothered to give this game hidden characters when there were so few in the first place is anyone’s guess.
Ermac is miles better than Noob, whatever that actually means in this game. He has his telekinetic slam as well as his fireball attack, and both of these have a tendency to catch the opponent mid-move and damage them. The AI seems less responsive to blocking his moves than they did Noob’s and it’s also quite easy to time his slam attack so that it stunlocks the opponent to death. Which, in a game where the bosses kill in two hits, is definitely a good idea.
I’ll say upfront that both Ermac and Noob Saibot are great choices for hidden characters in a portable title. It’s just a shame that this is the title they’re in. MKT for the game.com is, again, entirely pointless to play, wholly unenjoyable, but so interesting to observe all the same. Anomalies are some of the biggest fun when it comes to doing these videos, so regardless I enjoyed it, and it’s always nice to fuck around by doing some weird vids from time to time. “Palette cleansers”, I like to call them, which is probably even more appropriate for a series which specialises in palette swaps.
Up next, we finally start an extensive look at the 3D MK titles, starting with Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance.
