It pretty quickly came to light that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is one game that doesn’t support Sony’s new ‘Share Play’ feature, which basically allows two people with a Playstation 4 to access one copy of a game, streamed from the game owners console. So, theoretically, you could watch your friend play the new CoD even if you don’t own a copy, or they could select the ‘give controller to friend’ option, and you could play it, streaming from their console, with them watching instead. But, you can’t.

Sony originally said that Share Play would support all PS4 games and said that it’s not possible for publishers to opt-out of it, but, 14 games have already done it. What they’ve done is basically manipulate a ‘censor’ feature that publishers have access to, which is supposed to be used to block spoilers. Instead, they’re blocking entire games. The games are:

Another World, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Child of Light, Fez, Hotline Miami, Metro Redux, Minecraft, PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate, Rayman Legends, SteamWorld Dig, Thief, Tomb Raider and Wolfenstein: The New Order. It’s a weird mix, since no publisher has blocked all of their games, meaning they may just be considering how to implement it for the ones listed.
