#19 Eiyuden Chronicle Rising - The Final Battle
3Eiyudan Chronicles: Rising is a 2D action RPG developed by Natsume Atari and published by 505 Games as prologue of the upcoming bigger game titled Eiyudan Chronicles: Hundred Heroes. In this game, you will be playing a young girl calling herself CJ, an “honorable” scavenger, who visits a remote village called New Nevaeh in search of adventure and a priceless treasure that would make her pass her rite of passage in her clan. In her journeys in the village and its surrounding areas, she would be accompanied by a mercenary named Garoo and the village’s young acting mayor, Isha. Together they will be unraveling various mysteries of the origins of the village and the dark secrets long sealed within.
A game w/c received below average scores of 65 (NS and XSXS), 71 (PC), and 74 (PS5). Praises were placed on its low price, good visuals, world-building mechanics and had mixed reactions to its simplistic action. Criticisms were made on its animations, bland characters, quest designs and a lot of backtracking w/c most commented it failed to reach a passable RPG game.
As for me, it is one of those game which is just ok for me since you could play it (even in its hardest difficulty brain-dead due to its simple gameplay, small scale and short campaign. Even if it had a lot of faults like its backtracking, I did not mind it due to its very small pricing and unlike the critics, I liked its cast of characters and most of its light-hearted and funny dialogues. To be honest though, I just played it since it is a part or prologue of the upcoming Hundred Heroes of which I am much more excited to play (even though it did not much give into the main game’s story outside of hints or cliffhangers). Like I said, if you want a short, stress-free, w/ ok-ish mechanics and town-building, then this might be a game for you. Enjoy the walkthrough!!!
