After fighting with the battery boxes and foot shells, I finally figured out why the boxes weren't sitting flush against the shells. I printed my outer foot shells using the split files for smaller printers. It turns out that one of the main shell pieces has a small 'relief' cut out in the recessed area that the battery box 'tabs' slide into, and the other piece does not.

This video shows that once I figured out the cause of the fitment issue, all I had to do was cut a matching relief in the other piece of the foot shell. After I did that, the battery boxes slide in slick as ... something really slick.

I checked the files currently on the Michael Baddeley Patreon page, and the issue is still in the currently available files as of posting this video. Both the V2 and MKIII files have the issue, which I think is because they both now use the same files. I'll be emailing him to let him know of my discovery.
