A very straight forward on-rails lightgun shooter with an eco message as you help clean up the world by blasting trash themed enemies. It may only have three stages, but Intelligent Systems have a real passion for this genre even if Nintendo don't seem to let them make games in it. Eco Shooter is a fairly straight forward shooter, in that shots cost energy to fire and you regain your energy by sucking up the orbs the enemies leave behind. Comboing enemies grants you more orbs giving you even more energy.
This type of gameplay system does mean, that you can't just shoot wildly otherwise you will run out of energy and it's game over at that point. As with most WiiWare games it's not the longest titles with only three rather short stages and no two player mode. Still it's an enjoyable and upholds up to Nintendo's usual standard, but a few more extras wouldn't have gone a miss. Maybe one day Intelligent Systems will give us a long over due third sequel in the Battle Clash & Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge series. Also note how the opening song you can hear at the end of the video incorrectly calls the game “echo shooter” and not “eco shooter”
