LA Machineguns - Nintendo Wii - Arcade intro, attract & playthrough [UHD 4K 60fps]
39Full playthrough / walkthrough / longplay of the Nintendo Wii port of the Model 3 arcade game L.A. Machineguns Rage Of The Machines which is the sequel to Gunblade NY Special Air Assault Force. Direct ports of Model 3 games ended up being rather uncommon as Sega fail to port most games developed on the hardware. LA Machineguns working title was Gunblade 2 and is it just us or does the President in this look strangely like the actor Michael Douglas?
It was somewhat of a surprised to see LA Machineguns ported to the Wii with Gunblade NY. While fans will be over the moon, both games finally got ported. Unlike the near perfect port of Gunblade NY, LA Machineguns has some performance issues, the game isn't able to quite hold 60fps and in areas of heavy on screen action, slows down and screen tearing can also be seen. The game also gets the brightness badly off by default, resulting in a very dark picture and we have had to adjust this video in post editing to correct it. This version adds in a number of changes, first off the game now supports widescreen, but it doesn't appear to be true 16:9 ratio and some parts of the game are still displayed in 4:3 ratio. Some sections like the credit roll also look stretched in 16:9 mode.
That said it's still a good arcade game, unlike Gunblade there is no score attack mode and only one route. This time around you do get to pick which of the four stages you start on with a fifth final boss stage once you clear all other missions. Certainly each stage is twice the length of the ones seen in Gunblade NY and the game now includes a combo scoring system for chaining enemy take downs, quickly. Added to this the Model 3 stages look hugely better, but the game ended up not quite being as good, the lack of the helicopter from the first game just takes away something. Certainly the weaker of the games in the double pack on Wii and while, Gunblade NY is a game that draws you back in LA Machineguns is nice to play once in a while, but that's it, its just lacking the magic of Gunblade NY.

All footage in this video is captured directly from a Wii U console at 1080p, via an Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro. Upscaled to 4K to improve the video bit rate. Note the Wii U has a colour overrun issue even when using HDMI on Wii, partly this is down to the Wii's own poor RGB support.
