We will take a jump in difficulty levels in the 5th video of my 30 shorts challenge.

Today’s puzzle is the Hanayama Cast News which is a maximum 6 stars difficulty level, again designed by Nob Yoshigahara. Apparently he designed this puzzle when he was 19 years old!

The puzzle consists of 2 pieces and the goal is to take them apart. I really like the looks of this puzzle, with the bronze colour finishing and the compass design. To solve this puzzle requires the famous spin move, which is the move I always resort to when I am stuck.

The design is really ingenious with clever restrictions, requiring a lot more thought before understanding the hidden mechanism.
