A playthrough of the hidden boss and sub-boss Alex in the arcade version of Namco's Tekken 2.

Here's the other half of Roger, Alex, who I spoke about last video and who indeed was also Roger's sub-boss. Alex also has his own unique stage (correction, as Torentsu told me this is actually Kuma's stage), which you'll basically never get to see. At least, I don't remember it being in regular rotation.

Come to think of it, that's something I forgot to mention. Characters all have their own stages now, and the game's a million times better for it as it helps to infer each character a bit more personality. Apart from that, Alex is basically just a model swap of Roger, because lord knows this game hates mirror matches. I'm glad they tried to have some fun with character-making though, and both Roger and Alex more like a test of the engine more than anything else, not that's there's anything wrong with that. Alex unfortunately doesn't get as much love as Roger in the series, but like Roger we'll be seeing him a couple times more anyway. Alex is pretty cool on the whole because, hey, how could you not love a boxing dinosaur? It's a testament to the craft of this game that they can have something as goofy as this while still being able to pull off a generally macabre atmosphere. Game design at its finest.
