#659 Tekken 1 (ARC) Exclusive Costumes (2/2): Law (Original Player 2 outfit) playthrough.
A playthrough of Law in his original player 2 costume, in the arcade version of Namco's Tekken 1.
Law here (supposedly) has a different variant of his player 2 outfit in the arcades than he does in the console ports. It's a rather unapologetic rip-off of Bruce Lee's yellow jumpsuit from his unfinished film Game of Death, and was also later referenced most notably in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill vol. 1, where a very similar outfit is worn by the protagonist Beatrix Kiddo in the latter part of the film.
It's rather funny actually, as it was apparently changed to look more like Bruce Lee's outfit in the console port. People themselves aren't copyrighted I suppose, and there's nothing illegal about a parody, but it's still quite hilarious that they would take the effort to show that, yes, this character is definitely supposed to be Bruce Lee. Hell, one of Law's original names was "Dragon", but I guess they thought that was just too obvious. Law's a great character though, utilising Jeet Kune Do (the fighting style of Bruce Lee, surprise surprise), and utilising some insanely powerful and flashy looking flip kicks. Always been a character I enjoyed quite a bit.
And that, finally, wraps it up for the arcade version of Tekken 1. We have just one more video to do, on the console port of this game, before we're finally finished. See you then.
