#655 Tekken 1 (ARC) Bosses (8/9): Ganryu playthrough.
A playthrough of the potential sub-boss Ganryu in the arcade version of Namco's Tekken 1.
Ganryu is the sub-boss of Yoshimitsu (for some reason), and the last boss based off of Jack. He's a stereotypical sumo wrestler, with the mannerisms you might expect of a one, and for the better part utilises Jack's moveset. Like most of the NPC bosses however, he does have a few unique moves to himself. Most notably, he has a palm flurry attack, a stereotypical sumo move where he strikes at the opponent with his palms over and over again. It's great that he gets such a unique and appropriate move, as it also works quite well, able to deal numerous hits on the opponent for a potentially extensive amount of damage. If the opponent doesn't duck it first. Which they most certainly will.
Ganryu actually used to be one of my mains back when I was obsessed with Tekken Tag. I don't think I was ever very good with him, but he was a character I always really liked for some reason, despite probably being one of the more generic characters in the game. As with all the bosses, his moveset is a bit basic here, but we'll get to see it improve to an extent anyway. Another decent character, if a bit simple in this incarnation.
