Where will we build the Dyson Sphere? That has been a question that's been on my mind this whole time I've been streaming Dyson Sphere Program, and after sorting out lots of automation and issues on the home planet I may have found an answer. If our goal is to upscale our production (just look at how many more Energy Exchangers I built), then the M Class star system may be just what I'm looking for. There's a lush Jungle planet with lots of Oil and Organic Crystals perfects for shipping goods to my other systems. Meanwhile, both the Ice and the Barren planets come with a lot of building space. I may just have the ground area I need to get a Dyson Sphere up in the air.


Of course, there are plenty of issues to work out going forward. There are bigger stars out there and stronger stars. But somehow, this dull red spec in the sky feels cozy. Would you like for me to build a Dyson Sphere here?


If you are like me and originally had problems getting Energy Exchangers to work, there are two things I got wrong in my test run before this stream. First, make sure that you have your Energy Exchanger set to either Charge or Disperse. Second, if you don't have 200 accumulators to send then your logistics shuttles won't ferry them between planets. At the bottom of the Interstellar Logistics Tower options sliders there is a slider for how full of cargo your shuttles need to be to go to other planets. You can set it as low as 1% just to get your things moving. Also, I realized after the stream that 4 charging stations for 3 dispersing stations is a bit too slow -- this could be a function of needing more excess power on my lava planet's power grid, but more than likely this is just because the charging process takes longer than the dispersal process. Dyson Sphere Program is a factory building game that lets you jump between planets and star systems to collect resources and build, shockingly enough, a Dyson Sphere. It is a game that has greatly captured my imagination and does not feel like it is in Early Access. But at this stage it is, and at least so far there is no combat or enemies, so we are free to build. In this series, I will be focusing on correcting the mistakes of my first play through, working more efficiently, and completing a Dyson Sphere BEFORE I do the "Mission Complete" research.
