Let's cheat at Dyson Sphere Program. Wait, no, I mean play. Or use mechanics that are already in the game to give the power grid a jolt in the arm with Accumulators. Happy little power boxes that we can automatically produce and then fling around to other planets after charging them in an Energy Exchanger. Having just a few accumulators is enough to keep your Mech charged for awhile or to build some Orbital Collectors (which is another source of power), but with enough Energy Exchangers (and I will end up needing to build more) I can take power from a grid that is over saturated and send it directly to a planet that is power starved. Like my starter planet. Where production is at 50% efficiency. We will also steal power in this extra long bonus stream by dumping a bunch of gas harvesters onto our local gas giant for nearly unlimited Hydrogen production. Don't worry -- we will need that Hydrogen soon.

If you are like me and originally had problems getting Energy Exchangers to work, there are two things I got wrong in my test run before this stream. First, make sure that you have your Energy Exchanger set to either Charge or Disperse. Second, if you don't have 200 accumulators to send then your logistics shuttles won't ferry them between planets. At the bottom of the Interstellar Logistics Tower options sliders there is a slider for how full of cargo your shuttles need to be to go to other planets. You can set it as low as 1% just to get your things moving. Also, I realized after the stream that 4 charging stations for 3 dispersing stations is a bit too slow -- this could be a function of needing more excess power on my lava planet's power grid, but more than likely this is just because the charging process takes longer than the dispersal process. Dyson Sphere Program is a factory building game that lets you jump between planets and star systems to collect resources and build, shockingly enough, a Dyson Sphere. It is a game that has greatly captured my imagination and does not feel like it is in Early Access. But at this stage it is, and at least so far there is no combat or enemies, so we are free to build. In this series, I will be focusing on correcting the mistakes of my first play through, working more efficiently, and completing a Dyson Sphere BEFORE I do the "Mission Complete" research.
