GOOD NEWS. The developer of Curse of the Dead Gods responded to my bug report within minutes of my report and gave me a fix. So I'll be back to playing with a controller next time. Thanks Passtech Games!

This is my first full run in the new 1.0 build, and so far, and this time we take another crack at the Serpent Temple. It's funny because this is a temple boss that I've beaten in event dungeons but for whatever reason I keep having trouble getting the parry timing down for this series. And to make things worse, I have to turn off my XBOX Controller at the beginning of this run and go in with mouse and keyboard. Let's see how this one goes.

Curse of the Dead Gods is a game that has taken me by surprise and leaves Early Access on February 23, 2021. This is an action roguelike with a top down isometric view that borrows systems from a lot of different games. Enjoy permanent progression from Hades? Got it. Enjoy a Slay the Spire style map where you can plan ahead on your run? It's in the game. Methodical combat involving limited stamina similar to the Fromsoft Souls games? Absolutely. How about torch management like in Darkest Dungeon? You didn't even know you wanted that in this game, but you do. There's even a whole Corruption system that most will compare to Darkest Dungeon, but to be honest in implementation it feels a lot more like Eternal Darkness. The thing that gets me though? It all works, and works very well.
