What I like about this secret exit is that despite it's location in a place that I think many people would normally check, I was so impatient to finish the level after defeating the raging toad that I almost missed it. I think it's possible for players to think, "No, there must not be a secret here" because psychologically they don't want to go through a 3 minute boss battle again.
