This is a pretty annoying fight. Abyssal Akyuu's main gimmick is that after her first three turns, she becomes impossible to damage (conventionally) thanks to her two damage absorption skills. While you can still inflict PSN while she's in this state, and can even drain her HP to 1 this way, closing out the fight will require you to outlast Akyuu's static pattern so you can deal the killing blow. Her pattern is like this:

1. Wise Direct Protective Arts (absorbs all direct damage)
2. Random
3. Wise Magic Protective Arts (absorbs all magic damage)
4. Random
5. Random
6. Concentrate - Ultra Incantation
7. Samidare Slash
8. Concentrate - Ultra Incantation
9. Southern Cross

The direct barrier goes down after Turn 6 while the magic barrier goes down after Turn 8. Basically, when she uses the generic Swordmaster skill, you can hit her with directs and when she uses the generic Archmage skill, you can hit her with magic.

According to the Wiki she can use the following attacks on random attack turns: Spirit Decomposition, Space Compression, Refresh, Azure Shining Body, Great Destruction and Great Catastrophe. Potion of Life will help deal with Spirit Decomposition, and Space Compression can be tanked with damage reduction boosts from both Subclasses and items like Quartz Charms. There's not much to do if she uses Great Destruction (which reduces front row to 1 HP), but do note that of Akyuu's 9 turn loop, she only has a chance of using it on Turns 2, 4 and 5.

There's not much else to say about this fight. This boss is more like "a survival round with Abyssal Akyuu" than a proper back and forth fight. Bring a PSN user, a good CLD attacker, Aya and Yukari for Turn 1 Shenanigans, and characters that can either tank Akyuu's attacks or have a self-resurrecting mechanic and you're good to go. OG Akyuu is pretty good for this fight since she can self-resurrect AND protect other characters with her Invincibility skill.
