Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies - Episode 24: Cleaning Clocks and Breaking Psyche-Locks
In today's episode of the "Dual Destinies" playthrough, we get the magatama recharged, allowing us to break Pearl and DePlume's Psyche-Locks as we continue our investigation.
Since this is the second game in the series where you can't be penalized during investigations, with the first one being the very first game, there's no harm in trying to tackle a Psyche-Lock section without having the proper evidence; and personally, this makes me feel a bit conflicted.
On the one hand, since there's nothing to lose by trying to break someone's Psyche-Locks as soon as they appear, it can help to streamline the investigation process- especially when combined with the Notes section, which lets you know what you still need to look into- unlike in "Justice for All", "Trials and Tribulations", and "Apollo Justice", in which you felt compelled to investigate every last thing available to you, lest you take damage because you presented a piece of evidence that could support Phoenix's argument, but wasn't exactly what the game had in mind. But on the other hand, without the risk of being penalized for wrong answers, it doesn't feel as rewarding when you finally complete a Psyche-Lock section since you can more or less brute force your way through it with absolutely no downsides.
