Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies - Episode 25: Simon's True Punishment
In today's episode of the "Dual Destinies" playthrough, we finish the first day of investigating for this case, during which, we learn that Simon's the prosecutor, even though he's done with this whole thing before his opening statement.
Edgeworth may have good morals when it comes to honest investigations and fair trials, but as a boss, he's a monster. As if it wasn't bad enough that Edgeworth cut Gumshoe's pay to the point of the poor guy living in abject poverty (if that statement that he made about his apartment being cold, dark, and practically falling apart was anything to go by), despite the former steadfast loyalty in the latter's hour of need, now he's forcing Simon to prosecute an orca.
Sure, the game states that Simon's prosecuting this case because he's the only prosecutor who was interested in it, but as stated in "Monstrous Turnabout", given his status as a convict, all of his cases are directly assigned to him by Edgeworth. Plus, in order for the Prosecutor's Office to bring this case to court, it would have to be first approved by Edgeworth. As such, I wouldn't be surprised if Edgeworth decided to help Phoenix get back into the game by assigning this case to the one prosecutor working for him who's unable to refuse any work given to him, even if it results in him being forever known as the guy who prosecuted an orca.
