Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception Playthrough #1 - A Route S Rank (No Commentary)
Ace Combat series: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPO56tlewLYSlcYYlJcST7R4uCZ07Vxmc
Ace Combat X features branching mission paths similar to Ace Combat 3 (the Japanese version) but the story ends up being the same regardless of the path chosen. Instead of a changing story, the missions will be altered in various ways depending on your path.
I've opted to produce just two videos for this game as the final mission branch has just two variations and the ending is the same regardless. I don't want to repeat my Ace Combat 3 videos where a significant chunk of each video is repeated content.
I am using a PSP system font replacer as well as Superostrich's HD texture pack.
I played on hard mode. This game is actually much harder than any of the previous Ace Combat games in the later missions.
As usual, this is segmented and edited.
Notes
The emulator sometimes stutters when loading models.
Because I'm going for S ranks, many missions take significantly longer to complete than they would normally.
I have the controls rebound through the emulator to be the standard Ace Combat controls. The PSP didn't have many buttons, which usually necessitated holding it in a way that resembles a claw. I'm using an Xbone controller and I'd rather not do that.
The gun automatically adjusts itself when you're close enough to a target. It feels like a cheat, honestly.
The game appears to be using a modified version of Ace Combat 4's physics and rule set. The starting plane feels absolutely awful to use after playing through Zero three times.
