African and Native American Healing Arts - Zaramo and Navajo Drawing
15We discuss and draw African and Native American artworks that were used in traditional healing rituals. In this drawing episode we draw two sketches one of an African Magic Wand and another of a Native American Sand Painting. The African people you'll learn about today is the Zaramo from Tanzania who make elaborate figural staffs. The Native American people you'll learn about today are the Navajo who make paintings in the sand. Both of these arts traditionally are thought to have curative powers.
I hope you enjoy learning about these awesome cultures and their history.
