Ever wondered what it would be like if there were Pokemon Regions based on African countries? I sure have, and in this series called Pokemon in Africa we make African Pokemon based on countries all around the African continent. We create new Pokemon (commonly called Fakemon among the fandom referring to fan made Pokemon) and regional variants of Pokemon as well.
My fakemon are made with pixel art to look like they could be straight out of the Pokemon video games rather than replicating the look of the art with drawings or paintings.
Today's video features Pokémon from the country of Zimbabwe and South Africa with a focus on Shona culture. The Pokemon you'll see are based on centuries of art, culture, and history. There are regional variants of Rhyhorn, Rhydon, and Rhyperior. Yes thats right Rhydon the first Pokémon ever created by Ken Sugimori is getting a shiny new redesign based on the Golden Rhino of Mapungubwe. As for the newly made Pokemon named Zimbazi, it's based on the bird monoliths of Great Zimbabwe.I hope you enjoy these African Pokemon ideas that I present today.Let me know what you think in the comments.
