“I don’t need to fight. I only need to think.”

FYI, I’m not dead yet, just took a not-so-short break from editing. And guess what? The moment I felt like opening Sony Vegas again, goddamn Hoyoverse decided to release Alhaitham from the depth of their basement. So I thought to myself: well, what the hell, I'll wait until they release his character demo so I can edit him, then.
January came. His banner got out, and long story short, he became the only male character (aside from Zhongli) that wasn’t a pain in the butt for me to get. I was guaranteed AND I somehow managed to get my hand on his weapon as well - the best looking sword in the game, no cap. Haven’t prepared any materials though, since I didn’t expect to be so lucky lmao. But I guess after what happened, it’s safe to say that I grew to like him even more now xDD

I’m gonna be honest, I wasn’t a fan of anyone’s design in Sumeru at first, but once I got to know their character in the main quest– my impressions of them and of the region itself changed completely. Sumeru has the best writing, the best cast, and the best cutscenes. Everyone was memorable in their own way, and everyone got a chance to shine (well, maybe aside from Dori–I’m still not too fond of her lol). Though the one who got most of the limelight in my eyes is Alhaitham. He practically devised an entire play to save Nahida, and were it not for his “script” and strategic thinking, I don’t think the travellers nor anyone else would be able to protect Sumeru from doom either. Aside from his wonderful intelligence, I also like how he’s so self-assured to the point where it almost always comes off as “arrogant” to others, when in reality he’s the most humble, efficient and practical individual around. He’s perfect for a high-ranking job like the Grand Sage, but refused to take it because he favours independence over power. He plays a huge role in freeing Sumeru’s archon and saving it, but doesn’t bother taking any credits for his action. He follows his own principle in pursuing knowledge, rather than conforming to the Akademiya’s rigid system. Most of all, he is objective in everything he does, and doesn’t give a damn what others thinks of him. It is incredible to me that he’s supposed to be a human vision wielder and not a god. Man is just so impressive in many ways that I don’t know if I’m in love with him, or that I want to be him lmao, which explains my choice of editing the song Desire. To all Alhaitham’s fan out there, do you desire him? Or do you desire to be like him? That is the question JSBKAJAJA

Song: Desire - Meg Myers (edited by @Goofyahhshadowfr, nice name btw)
Fandom: Genshin Impact
Coloring: Kindon18 (edited)
Editing Program: Sony Vegas Pro 15

Ps: I’m currently obsessed with a few Vtuber/ Nijisanji content for the moment, so stay tuned for some animation edit…. that is if I can get any of them done before my hand breaks lol.
