Finally, an official edit for my girl, Vorona. I wanted to make a promotional video that matches with my youtube channel banner’s color, and here it is! The idea was that I would pick one character from my favorites’ roster, choose a song that best represents them, and convey their persona to the audiences without including any dialogue in the edit itself. I thought making small but fun challenges like this would neutralize the urge to procrastinate every once in a while haha. Ironically, the hardest part about it was actually the beginning. I don’t have a specific type, but when I am attached to a character– I gush and think about them alot xDD so as you can imagine I literally do not have the heart to put one aside in favor of another lmao. At first it was a tie between Gentaro (HypMic), Albedo (Genshin Impact), Tsukumo (Karneval), Yato (Noragami), Dazai (BSD), Vorona (Durarara!) and finally Tasir (Men of The Harem). But since I had to put the song choices and purple coloring into consideration, I felt like only Tsukumo, Vorona and Gentaro can go well with the aesthetic. Tsukumo and Gentaro unfortunately do not have that much screen time/footage for me to work with, so Vorona was the decided victor.

And you know what? I’m really glad I got to edit with her again. She is so needlessly hated in the Durarara fandom because some fans believe she stood in the way of the Shizaya ship–But like…really? -_- Don’t get me wrong, Shizaya is an interesting pairing, they are in fact one of my fav in terms of concept and design–but why drag Vorona in when she’s not romantically involved with either Shizuo or Izaya lol?And besides, she stands on her own just fine. I really mean it when I say she is the most unique character I’ve ever come across: it’s not every day that you see a robotic-mannered, soft-spoken, fight-addict Russian assassin, who possesses both incredible memorization skills and the best of strength, and yet lacks experiences in most seemingly normal aspects in life, such as conversing with other. Her backstory, appearance, and personality laid the foundation for so many of my writings and original characters, too. That just goes to show how much I am drawn to her. No matter what they say, I’d still love Vorona with all my heart, even if her arc kinda fell out of place a little bit towards the end of Durarara.

Then again, most of my favs are from very different types of series, varying in both genres and qualities. Take Gentaro for example. He’s from Hypnosis Mic. Is Hypnosis Mic a masterpiece? No, not really. At best, it’s a really entertaining otome, fan-servicy show. At worst, it’s incomplete and all over the place chaotic. But does Gentaro himself have a special backstory, a peculiar personality that I can somehow relate to, a memorable quirk (lying), and an enigmatic, potentially compelling motive? Yes, yes he does. Hence, he earns a place in my heart, much like how Vorona does it ^^

Well that’s enough for the description. It’s been a while since I wrote a long one, hasn’t it? I can’t guarantee this for the next couple of edits, though, since I’m busy managing so many shows and games all at once. Not to mention a few vtuber streams. Looks like someone’s gonna go full nerd this summer.
