Alice: Madness Returns Part 24: Don’t Spill your Drink
0So, after finishing the underwater level and heading off to see Dr. Radcliffe about our bunny but, as you might’ve expected, we seem to have found our way back in Wonderland (I think?). After entering his office, we then wake up to find the place seems to be abandoned and, after stumbling outside, we find the world itself has started to morph into a twisted image of itself, a combination of reality and the black tar from our Wonderland (that is why I’m wondering if we actually did return back into Wonderland or not). Luckily for us, it seems that whatever twisted pathway that formed for us is going to lead us to Caterpillar, at least that is what I’m assuming based off the fact that we can smoke these hookahs. The Hookahs act similar to the pig noses in that they open up pathways that were previously unavailable to us except they lead to the correct path while the pig noses, more often than naught, lead to collectables. There is one thing about this particular level that I’m not quite sure what is happening; Whenever we take a hit off of the Hookahs, we get this dialogue between Alice and the Caterpillar but I can’t tell if they are previous memories (maybe lines from the original game) or if it is happening in real time. They don’t really address this during the entire level so I can’t really say which is correct until I’ve played the original (which, as of writing this, I did start up again but haven’t finished it). Regardless, we have to talk with the Caterpillar and get through this twisted world to find him so, let’s begin another level.
