Alien Syndrome, a Sega arcade run-n-gun, has a very good X68000 port. Done by Dempa, it's nearly identical to the arcade. The view area is a little smaller than the System 16 original giving it a zoomed in look and it doesn't tell you the boss names, but the game play is carried well. I like it better than the other computer versions. The Amiga and C64 ones have a camera problem where the scrolling allows you to get too close to the screen edges, which can leave you with little time to react. Like the arcade, the X68000 tries to keep your character in the middle of the screen during the level in a 1P game.

Save all 16 hostages and get to the exit to take out the boss. Kill plenty of aliens on the way. Don't get too complacent, since there is a time limit. In the first loop it's 180 seconds. After the first loop you'll have less time... 140 on loop 2, then on the third you've got only 100. If you don't escape within the time limit, the bomb goes off causing you to lose one life and replay the level. After you clear out all 6 space stations, you make it back to your ship where you'll need to kick out an unwelcome guest before bringing your allies back to Earth.

If you can finish a stage and kill its boss with more than 100 seconds remaining, your time bonus will be 60.000.

After the game ends, I let the attract mode run because the X68000 port adds music to the demo. This BGM, and also the X68000's high score name entry theme, are previously unused tracks from the arcade.
