An original rag by Marc Moore (me), originally written in 2020 and revised in 2022. As with a couple past rags, I found a digital recording was the easiest way to get a piano-roll-like recording true to the way I wanted it to sound. Links to sheet music and MIDI files below.
Back in 2020, this had my first real attempt at a slower rag with more note flourishes akin to Joseph Lamb and Scott Joplin's more poetic works, but it didn't really end up coming out that way, and in revising it I decided to let it be a little faster. Ragtime fans will notice the homage to Joplin's Fig Leaf Rag that I snuck into the third refrain, which is what inspired the name. I did a lot of work on the harmonies and the background in trying to bring this one up to par with my newer compositions. #ragtime
