An original rag by Marc Moore (me), started in ~2015 and finally finished in 2022. I wrote this rag on piano, but found a digital recording was the easiest way to get a piano-roll-like recording true to the way I wanted it to sound. Links to sheet music and midi files below.
Starfruit Rag was one of my absolute first attempts at composing a rag back when I was in high school, but it was fairly barebones as originally written (the old version is posted on my channel as well). It's been quite a while, but I was finally able to finish it. The name was chosen in the spirit of Scott Joplin's Pineapple Rag and Peacherine Rag, and there are some parts after the key change that are closely inspired by them, as well as other transitions inspired by James Scott's Kansas City Rag. #ragtime
