An original swing-transition-era-style rag by Marc Moore (me), 2022. As with a couple past rags, I found a digital recording was the easiest way to get a piano-roll-like recording true to the way I wanted it to sound. Links to sheet music and MIDI files below.

So an acquaintance of mine has repeatedly challenged me to try for a fast rag inspired more by the works of legends like James P. Johnson, Fats Waller, and Jelly Roll Morton. In general, I was mostly like "that's above my paygrade", considering I can barely even keep up with all the detailed motifs sometimes much less compose them. But I ended up with a melody idea, so this is my attempt to take on his challenge.

The name might not make total sense, but I felt like the music had the frantic but continual rhythm to give off the feeling of running when late for work or something, hence Shuttlerush Shout (to both fit the mood of the music and the style I was attempting).
