AM2R: Return of Samus 100% Walkthrough Part 10 – Zeta Metroid and the Power Plant
71In this part, we finally face Zeta Metroids. Unlike Alpha Metroids, who take 5 to 7 Missiles to kill, or Gamma Metroids, who take 10 Missiles to kill, Zeta Metroids take a whopping 30 Missiles to kill in this remake. If you have any Super Missiles when you fight them (you’ll want to since they pack the power of 5 Missiles in one), make sure that you use them properly like I did in the first fight, which is right after they do a jump attack and not turn around. If you launch a Super Missile after it does its acid attack or when it is running towards you, they will always be blocked (from my experience). That being said, my second Zeta Metroid is where everything went wrong, and taking it head on near the end with only 19 units of health probably wasn’t the best idea, but I was truly lucky.
After defeating the final three Metroids in the area, another seismic event occurs. This effects not only the lava in the cave system, but the lava to the west of The Tower as well. I go down that route as it takes me to the Power Plant, which contains the much needed Power Bombs. After getting them, an escape sequence occurs after being forced to blow up the generator. It’s probably one of the best ones in the series, especially due to the scene at the end. After the Power Plant is destroyed, I get the remaining some more expansions and save before finally entering the Tower.
