AM2R: Return of Samus 100% Walkthrough Part 11 – The Tester and Distribution Center
54After clearing out most of The Tower, I finally actually head inside and restore power. Doing so brings a pretty cool remix of Ridley’s Lair theme from Super Metroid. I head on in to face the most dreaded boss (for me) in the game, The Tester. It comes with five different types of attacks, but luckily, not all of them were used in this battle. In order to deal some damage to it, you’ll need to use Missiles to destroy its outer shield, and your beam to temporarily destroy its green inner shield. Once you do that, you can attack the eye. Unfortunately, at this time, I thought the eye could only be damaged by the beam attack, but it turns out Missiles and Super Missiles work too. Also, the Power Bombs I had, while helpful with destroying the shields, could have OHKO’d the eye.
That being said, after I defeat the boss, I obtain the Plasma Beam, and finally head toward the next area. It’s the Distribution Center, and it is completely unique to this remake, even with its own music. I go through a good amount of the area, finally activating the Distribution Center (which work with some statues that we saw in earlier areas), and taking out some Metroids.
