AMDGPU-Pro 17.10 Driver Test | Rx460 Ubuntu 16.04
0Did the recent AMDGPU-Pro driver update fix the glitches and regressions found in the previous driver?
It's a mixed bag. Certain games saw fixes and performance boosts while others remained the same. The glitch in Audiosurf 2 was gone but it was worse in Golf With Friends.
Performance in WarThunder didn't improve much but Rust saw a massive performance boost.
The VMware SVGA bug got a little bit better but once the 3D acceleration kicks in, VMware crashes.
If you depend on the AMDGPU-Pro driver for whatever reason, I say upgrade from 16.60 to 17.10. If you are happy with the performance on the open-source Mesa driver, stick with that.
AMD really needs to test for regressions because clearly, their current QA strategy isn't working.
