OpenSUSE Leap 42.2 On Raspberry Pi | Running NodeJS Website
OpenSUSE is one of the latest Linux distributions to cross from desktop Linux-land onto embedded systems with the Raspberry Pi!
Actually, openSUSE images have been supported on Raspberry Pi's since at least 2014 which makes it one of the first distributions to do so.
I found openSUSE to run incredibly well on my Raspberry Pi 3 with the Broadcom BCM2837 SoC. Compared to Ubuntu Snappy, I found openSUSE to be *significantly* quicker.
In this video we used openSUSE Leap 42.2 on a Raspberry Pi 3 to run my website which is an EmberJS & NodeJS web app. It took upwards of 20 minutes to retrieve and compile the node modules for the website. Overall the website ran just fine though.
