AMDGPU-Pro 17.10 vs Mesa 12.0.6 | RX 460
The latest driver from AMD was released last week so now is the time for a new display driver benchmark video!
I used the excellent KDE Neon (based on Ubuntu 16.04) for this video. If you'd like to hear why I'm currently using KDE Neon in my videos, watch my previous video here - https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=51ZVN0S-WXA
For most games, the open source Mesa driver can offer comparable frame rates to the closed source AMDGPU-Pro driver. The problem is that the Mesa driver stutters *alot*. It can make some games simply unplayable.
Also - I did not compose nor create the music for this video in anyway.
